As many of you know, this week it’s Valentine's day 💕 What a controversial day - you either love it or hate it, but you can’t avoid it...that's for sure!
What to do on Valentine's day whether you're loved up, single or it's a typical night in with you and the dog.
1 - Adopt a Bee! Bees are one of our most important pollinators and as you may already know they are becoming extinct. So what says Bee My Valentine more than gifting your love a bee? Just be sure to call him Barry to complete the total romance that you can find in the bee movie ;) go ahead and adopt a bee here.
2 - Everyone loves flowers right? Well, why not get your valentine some seeds so you can both plant and grow your flowers together. Customise a small packet and fill it with seeds of your favourite flowers and watch your love blossom.
3 - Rather than buying something (inevitably a product that will have a limited life span) why not buy an experience? Most people relate their happiest memories to the great outdoors, so how about a SUP (stand up paddle) session or canoe? Check out Moo Canoes for some cool adventures.
4 - What about a nice hike and picnic and don't worry about the weather. Remember, there is no such thing as bad weather, it's just bad clothing. And check out Waitrose for all their BCorp brands ;)
5 - Whilst we're talking about clothing what about some awesome products from Finisterre or Patagonia, you can't go wrong with anything from these guys and whilst they may seem more costly than some alternatives they'll last a lifetime and their cost to the environment is significantly lower than most in the clothing sector. And remember, buy cheap buy twice.
6 - Whilst we're talking about buying products check out Buy Me Once - does exactly what it says on the tin - durable, long-lasting products that are built to last.
7 - If you're looking for a DIY pamper session why not treat yourself to some eco-friendly home spa products? A few options here, such as Lush - 'Vegetarian, vegan and cruelty free cosmetics, handmade by real people fresh from our kitchens straight to your bathroom', or The Body Shop - 'Skincare, make-up, haircare and body products inspired by nature and ethically made' - who have been doing sustainability before most people even knew what it was.
8 - Keeping with the DIY theme, how about making some deliciously scented candles made from natural resources? Soy candles are environmentally friendly and contain significantly fewer chemicals than their shop bought counterparts. So get crafty and make your own, followed by a relaxing candlelit bath. Maybe you'll buy an awesome bath bomb from Lush too :)
9 - For the single pet owners, check out Lilys Kitchen - 'Proper food for pets' and another member of the BCorp gang ;)
10 - For the rest of you single lot, get together for some Netflix and chill and dive into a David Attenborough marathon - because let’s be real, you don’t love anyone more than you love David ❤️
However you choose to spend your Valentine's day, we at Flooglebinder wish you a good one and send our love 😘
